Our Beginning
Before there were book clubs, themed parties, and a calendar full of plans, there was just the two of us.
We've Been Doing Life Together for a While
We're Sondrea and Karmen, and we've known each other since seventh grade. Long before Little Luxuries was even an idea, we were already part of each other's lives.
As we've gotten older, we've realized how much it means to have good friends and people to make plans with. Meeting new people as an adult isn't always easy, especially when you're trying to find girls who actually want to get out and do things.
We both loved reading, so starting a book club felt like a good place to begin. We didn't know exactly what it would turn into. We just knew we wanted to give it a try.
Different Strengths, Same Ideas
We have different ways of making things happen, and that's probably why this works so well.
Sondrea
The planner with a very specific vision. From the event ideas and schedules to the colors, details, and overall aesthetic, she's usually thinking about how everything will come together before the last event is even over.
Karmen
The crafty one who can take an idea and figure out how to make it happen. She's the DIY girl, always ready to get creative and put her own touch on the things we're planning.
Then One Idea Turned Into Another
Book club was only the beginning. Pretty soon we were planning girls' nights, Pilates, themed dinners, weekend trips, and whatever else sounded fun.
What we love most is seeing girls show up, get to know each other, and make plans outside of our events too. That's the part we hoped for when we started, and it's been really special to see.
We're still learning, trying new things, and probably adding too many ideas to the calendar. But we get to do it together, and now with a whole group of women who want to be part of it.
